Ca’ del Baio, is a Grasso family affair with Giulio and Luciana working alongside their three daughters in all aspects of the business. With 28 hectares in total, the Asili vineyard is the estates most admired production, one of the greatest Crus in all of Barbaresco. Giulio has been recognized by many critics as one of the premier producers in the Barbaresco area and was awarded, winemaker of the year, in 2016 by the Gambero Rosso (Italy’s highest profile trade publication). With each passing year, the three daughters; Paola, Valentina, and Federica take over more of the responsibilities of running every aspect of the estate. As part of the Green Experience and practicing organic, native yeast is utilized in fermentation, and a traditional, non-interventional approach, is maintained in the farming and production of these elegant wines.

“Our first commitment, in looking for a production model suitable for the Langhe hills, was deciding to work our lands with attention to the health of consumers, but also to that of all of us who work personally in the countryside and in the cellar…Thanks to innovative and eco-sustainable agronomic solutions – such as the diffusion of pollinating insects and herbaceous and floral essences and the placement of nests for birds functional to the crop – the producers who join The Green Experience take care of both their vineyard and the landscape Unesco wine and natural environment.” –Giulio Grasso
