IL GRAPPOLO
Montalcino SI, Italy (Tuscany)
Sangiovese
Aged for 5 years before release, this promising 2015 vintage is already a star. Full of precise fruit character and depth with aromas of black cherry, cassis, underbrush, and dried flowers. A structured, savory palate with star anise, tobacco, and black olive exists alongside fine tannins and fresh acidity that offers up a wine built to last. This is the type of classic Brunello we fell in love with.

Sangiovese
Hailed as a great vintage by many critics this 2010 vintage of Sassocheto comes from a cooler site which required some time to develop. The time is now, with wild cherry, cinnamon, clove, licorice, and pipe tobacco joined by fine-grained tannins and a sophisticated finish. The opportunity to buy older bottles of Brunello is a pleasure. These bottles have come straight from the winery at the beginning of 2021 and won’t last long.

Sangiovese
A warmer vintage than 2010. This wine is pure pleasure as a little heat benefits these cooler sites at higher elevations. A lush wine full of ripe red and black berry fruits like Morello cherry, star anise, and wilds herbs. Given the round, broad tannins this wine has aged gracefully. The last few hundred bottles have come straight from the winery at the beginning of 2021.
