PIERRE CELLIER
Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Champagne

Prestige Brut
Champagne Brut, NV

30% Chardonnay, 60% Pinot Noir, 10% Pinot Meunier

The Prestige wines from Philippe Gonet express the amiable, fun-loving side of Champagne without sacrificing the elegant family style. With beautiful aromatics of orchard fruits and brioche, the bubbles are relaxed yet precise, the texture is lush, and the finish is satisfying. The dosage is a little higher than the Gonet house style for touch more body, 8 g/l.

Points of Interest

The Prestige wines were started by the late Philippe Gonet, crafted specifically for a friend and restaurateur back in the 70s in Paris. Named after his son, Pierre (now the winemaker), and his wife’s maiden name, Cellier, the wines showcase an approachable fruity style only recently made available in the U.S. market. Made with the same precision and care from certified sustainable vineyards, HVE.
Prestige Brut Rosé
Champagne Brut Rosé, NV

90% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Noir

What makes this rosé stand out is the high percentage of Chardonnay fruit from classified villages in the Côte des Blancs. A great value to be sure, a delicate rose color with aromas expressing red floral spice and raspberry fruits. The chalky minerality shines through the Chardonnay, creating complex bread notes and crushed-rock sensations. Very fresh with fine effervescence and drinkability.

Points of Interest

The quality of the fruit and the pedigree of the vineyard sourcing can not be overstated for this rosé style Champagne. The Pinot Noir is sourced from the 1er Cru village of Vertus where the family was originally based in the 1800s. It is made into a still wine which is blended into the Chardonnay after fermentation is complete. The vineyards are certified sustainable under the relatively new, but highly respected, HVE certification.
