  • ValentWine?

  • 12 February 2016
  • Don’t doctors keep saying that red wine is good for your heart? With the ever so popular Valentine’s Day fast approaching, we can’t help but think that perhaps what the doctors say is serendipitous. What better time of year to be good to your heart or that of a loved one? Allow us to step in and make some delicious and slightly themed recommendations.

    Ornella Molon ‘Eros’

With a name like ‘Eros’ (the Greek god known as ‘Cupid’ to the Romans), this wine was practically made for Valentine’s Day! A 50/50 blend of Pinot Noir and Malbec, it may seem like an odd match at first, but it turns out that the two go together like sugar & spice, peanut butter & jelly, Barbi & Ken, Mac & Cheese…ok you get the point. It’s a rockin’ combination!

    Tony Sasa Amarone

Amarone is simply one of those classic wines that by its very nature is hard NOT to love and this beautiful expression from Tony Sasa certainly does not disappoint!  Voluptuous flavors of dried plum, dark cherry, chocolate and exotic spices elegantly weave their way onto the palate and linger at the finish just long enough to make sure that you won’t forget it. Without a doubt, this is a wine for a special occasion that will impress any audience.

    Demarie Birbet

Raspberry, strawberry, jammy goodness in a glass, with a touch of rose petals and a ton of bubbles just for kicks. Paolo Demarie did not hold back with this wine and the subsequent “Wow!” factor cannot be denied. It’s loaded with layers of flavor that effortlessly combine to create a vivacious, sparkling treat that is the perfect accompaniment to any chocolate or fresh berry dessert.
